was the first academy of its kind in Kolkata with its own
facilities. The beautiful academy could easily pass of as
retreat for its greenery and serenity, hidden in the heart of
Salt Lake, away from the maddening hustle & bustle of
Kolkata. It is a great place to learn tennis for children and
for adults to relax.
The academy, a joint collaboration between Jaidip Mukerjea
and Bidhannagar Municipality.

The
Himalayan Tennis Academy is a joint effort of Jaidip Mukerjea
Tennis Academy, Kolkata, and the Siliguri Jalpaiguri
Development Authority (SJDA). The defining reasons for each
of the protagonist of the project are different. The Tennis
Academy is a part of SJDA's efforts to modernize and beautify
Siliguri, to make it more attractive for the present and
potential residents. The project also brings to fruition a
long cherished dream of Mr. Jaidip Mukerjea. He has great
faith in the potential of the people living in the North
Eastern part of India, and feels that they are physically and
mentally endowed to be international quality tennis players.
The facility itself could not have found a better home.
Situated on the NH-55, it offers a panoramic view of the
Himalayan range. The area is pollution free, and
well-connected by air, rail and road. The nearest airport is
Bagdogra and railway station is New Jalpaiguri.

film maker, and now she is the Chairperson of the Jaidip
Mukerjea Tennis Academy. She has keen interest for the game,
possesses excellent administrative skills and a great
positive attitude.

coaching team for both the academies is a motivated unit.
Handpicked by Jaidip himself, they pride themselves for their
sincerity, hard work, energy and knowledge. The academy has
