The academy will consist of the following:
	4 synthetic tennis courts

	Club House, with changing room facilities
	Residential facilities for outstation players
	Library facilities for tennis players

	Living Quarters for administrator, coaches & staff

Purpose - Tennis Coaching
The main purpose of HTA will be to scout for young talent and train them to be world class tennis players.
	Mr. Jaidip Mukerjea to himself supervise the coaching scheme
	Mahesh Bhupati to visit the academy 4 times a year to offer consultation and hold clinics
	The basic thrust will be to develop a solid foundation
	Special attention to be given to physical fitness
	Scholarship scheme for talented players
	Advanced trainees to be put through periodization training
	Sports Psychologist aid to be provided
	Dietician aid to be provided
	Visual aid to be provided
	Tennis Library resources to be available
	Regular Evaluation for trainee's progress
	Regular intra-academy tournaments to be held
	Junior nationals & men's tournaments to be held
We propose to set up a scholarship fund to assist in the player development of financially weak trainees.

Recreational Activities
Although the central thrust of the Himalayan Academy is the promotion of tennis players, the facility will also function as a recreational & social club. This is essential to make the academy financially self-sufficient and capable of supporting the talented and promising players, who may not have the financial resources, which is much needed at the international level. The facility proposes to sell membership to the residents of Siliguri and adjoining areas. The academy also proposes to sell membership to corporate.
