"I
have had many happy moments with partner Jaidip during my
playing days. I consider him one our courageous competitors.
Together, we played in the final round of Davis Cup
competition in 1966. He has plenty of knowledge of the game
of tennis which will be useful to the younger
generation." |

"Sir
Jaidip as I call him, besides being one of all time great tennis
players our country has produced, is a very warm and humble human
being. He has immense knowledge of the game and has coached me to
numerous close wins sitting on the chair as my Davis Cup
Captain."

"Jaidip
Mukerjea has been one of India's outstanding tennis players. He has
a fine Davis Cup record and I do remember seeing him play in the
early 1970's which was towards the end of his illustrious career. He
continued playing in local tournaments for the next several years
giving upcoming youngsters like myself a chance to compete against
him. Jai was always a fine match player and I was able to imbibe
some of the finer points from him.
In the latter part of 1990s, Jai was the captain of the Indian Davis
Cup Team and it was during this period that Leander Paes won the
Bronze medal at the Olympic Games and with Mahesh Bhupati forged a
top class doubles combination.
I have had a chance to visit the Jaidip Mukerjea Tennis Academy at
Salt Lake and am happy to see that Jai is still associated with this
game of tennis and passing on his expertise to the present
generation. I am also happy to hear about Jai's involvement
with The Himalayan Tennis Academy at Siliguri and am sure it
will do well."
